Klagenfurt Airport
Slope Rehabilitation 10L/28R
Klagenfurt Airport intended to fundamentally renovate the 2,750m long CAT-III runway 10L/28R. The runway has a rigid superstructure (22cm to 25cm concrete pavement, unreinforced).
The rehabilitation concept envisaged that the existing concrete pavement would be relaxed with the drop shear. The relaxed concrete pavement was overlaid with bituminous base, binder and surface layers of different thicknesses in such a way that, in addition to increasing the load-bearing capacity, the slope cross slope was also raised.
