EXPO 2020 opens on October 1, 2021, and runs through March 30, 2022; it was postponed by one year due to COVID.

The Austrian Pavilion explores the themes of sustainability and resource management; it presents an interpretation of ancient Arabic architectural elements known as “wind towers” (Persian: badgir):
