Project description

The existing Vorarlberg terminal is one of the most important hubs in Austria for freight traffic, but today it is no longer able to meet the requirements – both in terms of quality and quantity – in several areas.
The expansion concept provides for a complete new use of the existing area including a neighbouring property and pursues the following goals:

■ Replacement of the short support tracks with a crane module integrated on both sides with full-train-length loading tracks on a curved crane runway.
■ Optimal use of the entire area as an empty container depot, including service facilities (repair facilities, container washing area, forklift maintenance).
■ New road access concept incl. HGV in-gate and HGV pre-stowage facilities.
■ Unbundling of transports (KLV, WLV)
